Opening of the green - Saturday 11th April. Captain Kate welcomed Rose Howard who was to deliver the first bowl of the season. Rose has been a member for 40 years and although she doesn't play bowls, she is a massive part of our club - she has been the Club Secretary, section 5 delegate, she organises the MDL within the club and the County games at the end of the season. She is a great support to all in the club and her knowledge about bowls and bowlers is great.
The weather stayed dry, we played 14 ends before enjoying a delicious shared buffet.

The Last Social Event of Winter 21.03.26
The final social event of the winter season took place just before the green is set to reopen on 11th April. Members gathered to mark the occasion, enjoying a warm and lively evening together.
The evening began with a delicious curry, lovingly prepared by Guida. The tasty meal was complemented by a selection of drinks available from the bar, ensuring everyone was well looked after.
Horse Racing Entertainment
After dinner, the entertainment kicked off with a spirited horse racing game organised by Paul and his family. Each table participated by rolling six dice prior to moving the ‘horses’ forward a number of steps. The excitement mounted as participants navigated the course, but caution was needed—those tricky jumps saw many a horse stumble and return to the start!
