Opening of the Green 2021

Our lovely green is ready for play as of Monday 19th April - thanks again to our greenkeepers Ken Howard, Bob Gilpin and any other helpers. Due to current COVID guidelines we will need to BOOK for a roll-up, practise session or county match via Linda Dedman (01626 331117).

NO BOOKING NO GAME!

Roll-ups can be singles, pairs or triples games unless MDL or County matches. The green can be available 7 days a week, 10 - 12.30, 2 - 4.30 or 5.30 to 8. For track and trace purposes all players names will need to be recorded at the time of booking. Please follow COVID rules as per last year - i.e. hand sanitiser, spraying the mat and jack, unless instructed otherwise. Drinks can be consumed outside; the clubhouse is not fully open but toilets can be accessed. 

Steve Tipping is looking forward to running the ever-popular Aussie pairs competition - please put your name forward via a sign up sheet at the club along with other club competitions. 

Details of paying in for this year's membership is via the email from Ivor - please pay asap so the team and club captains can be assured of who is available to play during the season.

Open Day 2021

    Bowls England are planning a nationwide open weekend to encourage new players to take part in our great sport. There are so many benefits to bowling - Physical in terms of fitness, Health and Wellbeing in terms of being out in the fresh air and Social in meeting lots of new friends. Bowls is a sport that can be enjoyed as a social game but also at a competitive level with club and County competitions leading to National annual finals. 

    Newton Abbot are going to open our green to anyone interested in having a go at bowls on Sunday 30th May between 10am and 2pm. Equipment will be provided, flat shoes will need to be worn, members of Newton Abbot bowling club will be on hand to show you how to play.
